Conscious Breathing: Our Journey
Our first exposure to Conscious Breathing or Breathwork was in 1983. A friend who often had difficulty dealing with life came to visit us one day and appeared to be more grounded and clear than we had noticed before. We asked her what she had been doing and she told us she had discovered Breathwork. It was obvious she was happier and more confident than we had ever witnessed before. So we decided to find out more about Breathwork. We both went to a Breath Practitioner to learn and experience what exactly Conscious Breathing was all about. We were immediately impressed by the power; depth and understanding that came from those first few Breath sessions.
Both of us were amazed at how Breath Integration put us in touch with our emotions and our bodies. We never realized just how much our emotions and the thoughts connected with these feelings were very much alive in our bodies. Also the depth of peace and connection to what we can only describe as life force, grace or spirit.
Blanche knew from her very first breathwork session that this was the work she wanted to do in life. Within a few months we both enrolled in a six month intensive with a group called “New World Network” in Vancouver, B.C., and as a direct result of this experience Blanche went on to train as a Breath Practitioner with Marnie Darnel a Certified Breath Practitioner and pipe carrier.
Since our first exposure to Conscious Breathing and Breath integration in 1983 we have and continue to take advantage of the many benefits that come from these various practices for our own health, clarity and spiritual evolution. Together we have probably experienced literally thousands of Breath Integration sessions and practice other conscious breathing practices most days. We have also facilitated thousands of Breath Integration sessions in workshops, private sessions and the LifeShift Program over the years. Conscious Breathing and Breath Integration were an integral part of our LifeShift Program at its inception and continue to be an important aspect now.
